Campfire Audio's Alien Brain earphones are an out-of-this-world listening experience...
Featuring a new five-driver hybrid design and an expertly tuned sonic signature, Campfire’s £999/$999 handcrafted IEMs are the latest in an acclaimed lineage
Campfire Audio has announced Alien Brain, the next entry in its acclaimed line of hybrid-design, in-ear monitors. Alien Brain (£999/$999) offers a top-to-bottom premium experience, with an expertly tuned sonic signature paired with Campfire’s renowned, hand-crafted build quality.
Ken Ball, Founder and Lead Acoustic Engineer at Campfire Audio, explains: “Building on over a decade of earphone design and engineering, we expanded the legacy and boundaries of what is possible in a dynamic-BA hybrid, with the all-new, five-driver Alien Brain. The price performance of the new Alien Brain was one of our main goals here. Get your close encounters of the hi-fi kind with the all-new Campfire Audio Alien Brain!”
With Alien Brain, Campfire’s dual-magnet dynamic driver has received an exciting update: an all-new 10mm glass-PU diaphragm. Implemented as a dedicated low-frequency driver, this novel dynamic driver features a glass speaker dome and a polyurethane diaphragm, bringing a new flavour of bass presentation while maintaining the strengths of the dual-magnet line.
Complementing this new dynamic driver are two high-quality, mid-frequency dedicated balanced armatures; expertly tuned by Campfire’s seasoned acoustic engineering team to bring out the most in precision, detail and emotive quality. Rounding out Alien Brain’s driver complement are two high-frequency balanced armatures that ensure crisp treble and an expansive soundstage.
These drivers and tuning elements come together to form a sonic signature that reflects a versatile approach. Whether it’s the thunderous impact of a bass drop or the delicate nuances of a classical symphony, Alien Brain delivers sound in expansive, high-resolution detail, that is low-fatigue and eminently listenable.
Housed in a sleek, black PVD full CNC stainless steel shell, Alien Brain combines modern aesthetics with superior durability and resonance control. This combination of high-grade materials and ergonomics ensures a robust, premium feel and comfortable wear for long listening sessions. Campfire’s new iridescent dome lid is unique, lightweight and durable, rounding out Alien Brain’s playful and striking design.
Alongside enhanced performance comes an upgraded accessory pack. Alien Brain comes bundled with Campfire’s new 32-bit/384kHz USB-C DAC dongle, offering high-quality performance with portable devices. Two more new additions to Campfire’s already comprehensive accessory pack are a compact leather carrying case and High & Clear high-traction silicon ear tips.
The new Campfire Audio Alien Brain earphones will be available later this month from a range of retailers, including Amazon, with a suggested retail price of £999/$999.
