Ruark demonstrates Sabre-R bookshelf speakers at Bristol Hi-Fi Show 2025...
Ruark Audio, renowned for its legacy of producing premium sound systems, will be demonstrating its recently launched Sabre-R bookshelf speakers and R610 streaming amplifier at the annual Bristol Hi-Fi Show 2025. This marks the first time in over two decades that Ruark has brought passive
speakers to this iconic event, heralding an exciting return to its roots in speaker design.
Sabre-R: A Modern Take on a Classic
Introduced in 2024, the Sabre-R represents Ruark’s re-entry into passive speaker production after a long hiatus, following the brand’s shift to focus on compact audio systems nearly two decades ago. Inspired by the brand’s original Sabre speaker, first released in 1986, the Sabre-R combines Ruark’s decades of expertise in sound engineering with modern-day innovations to deliver a superior audio experience.
The Sabre-R is a two-way bookshelf speaker featuring a 15cm treated natural fibre cone woofer. Paired with a 26 mm silk dome tweeter, this combination ensures a balanced, natural sound across all frequencies, making the Sabre-R ideal for both audiophiles and casual listeners. The speaker is housed in a beautifully finished, handcrafted cabinet, available in Fused Walnut or Satin Charcoal lacquer finishes, adding a touch of elegance to any space.
R610 Streaming Amplifier: A Powerhouse for Modern Audio
The R610 streaming amplifier, launched alongside the Sabre-R speakers, is a powerful and versatile unit designed to meet the needs of today’s streaming-focused listeners. Featuring built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the R610 is fully compatible with popular streaming services such as Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Apple Airplay 2 and Google Cast, making it easy to access high-resolution audio content.
What sets the R610 apart is its Stereo Class D Amplifier, delivering 75 watts per channel of dynamic, high-fidelity sound that pairs perfectly with the Sabre-R speakers. The R610 also boasts audiophile- grade DACs with up to 32-bit/384kHz resolution. Its sleek, minimalistic interface, featuring Ruark’s iconic RotoDial control, and a crisp colour display ensures that the system remains user-friendly while offering a high-end feel. The unit’s premium finish matches the Sabre-R speakers, providing a cohesive, stylish setup for any home.
