New 2go firmware released today
Chord Electronics rolls out key updates for the 2go streamer/ser18th May 2021, Kent, UK: Chord Electronics has released new firmware for the company’s 2go streamer/server, a device that directly connects to both the Hugo 2 DAC/headphone amp and the forthcoming 2yu network bridge, to bring music streaming to audio systems.
The firmware rollout (v. 1.5.0) introduces new radio-listening features, SD card album playback and improved stability, and follows the release (13th of May) of the latest version of Gofigure, Chord Electronics’ set-up and configuration app companion.
The updates include better radio station and playlist support along with faster access over Wi-Fi. A key upgrade is the new playlist generator feature that allows Gofigure to scan any SD card/s inserted into 2go for music and create playlists for every stored album, giving an easy way to play all stored albums without the need for Wi-Fi or another app.
Existing 2go owners will receive the free firmware via an over the air (OTA) update from today (18th of May), at 11.00 BST/10.00 UTC. New 2gos will be shipped to global dealers with the latest updates pre-installed.
2go owners using the new firmware are strongly advised to install the latest version of Gofigure (available for Android and iOS devices), downloadable directly from the Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store, respectively; Android 10 users are encouraged to download a specific version of Gofigure from the Chord Electronics website directly at: chordelectronics.co.uk/android; Android 10 users installing from Google Play Store will be redirected back to the Chord Electronics download page. A fresh install of Gofigure is always recommended, however, some devices may auto-update; iOS 13 and Android 7 (or higher) are recommended for running the latest version.
